Had new discs and pads fitted 700miles ago and all was fine. Until now, for some reason the rear pads are making a hell of a screech every time I pull up at a junction. Any known cure or is it a replace pads job? All parts dealer supplied...

There is this stuff - https://www.bgprod.com/catalog/brakes/bg-stop-sque...

I bought a bottle to use on my 4.7 before I went CCM on the v12's. I never tried it, your decision!

Google it, and if you want it, I'd be prepared to pass it on for a donation to Ed50's page - http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/fundraiser-web/fun...

+1 bg stop squeal, or DynaGrip works, but you also need to follow the correct bed in procedure for the new pads. I suspect some mechanics skip skip this. You could try going through the bed in procedure again and see if it makes a difference. Let me know if you don't have it and I will post it.

Mine does this sometimes, I find a full bore brake from 50+ down to virtually standstill makes it go away - dealer said it was a film build up from me braking like a granny too often, whether that's true or not I have no idea biggrin

They just need bedding in properly from new, also if you leave the car standing a long time or dont really use the breaks much, they may need occasionally doing again. Find a quiet stretch of road.....

Given the speeds they recommend you need to find a stretch of private road wink

When I told my local mechanic that these brakes are prone to squeal and that he should use extra anti-squeal stuff on the back of the pagid pads, he told me that there's no longer any need for that as the pads are now designed so you don't have to use that stuff on the back; he also showed me a cushion thing(?) on the back of the pad. Anyway, he replaced all 4 pads a month ago and I've not heard them squeal once.

Well, I tried everything on my 4.7 and the relief was always only temporary. Even new pads etc.

Just got back, (that was fun) I have since driven locally picking a few bits up and not squeaked once, so hopefully resolved, only time will tell I suppose. Thanks for the advice............
