Clearing the in-laws loft at the weekend a found a number of what you could describe as TVR postcard sized pics, specs and price lists. No idea what date they were but I found this set. Do any of these Project 12/7 cars exist or was it planed but never delivered?

It's the TVR Speed 12 - there's a write up in Wiki. One of the last remaining is in the Lakeland museum. There are also a few you tube clips of it in action. I'm guessing that the spec sheets are a bit of a collectors thing?

The engine thats on the spec sheet is the engine that Al Melling designed and the 6 speed sequential gearbox
based on his 3.5 litre AJP 6 engine i have the blue prints . Dave RND

Correction needed.

That the 7/12 evolved into the Speed 12 is correct however the red car above is not a Speed 12, that is a Speed 12 Cerbera.

The Speed 12 Cerbera (W112 BHG) is a different beast altogether and features a folded alloy tub and only shares it's engine with the original Speed 12. That car is currently on view at the Lakeland Motor Museum and has the only functioning original TVR Speed 12 engine with a fabricated block.

TVR built two Speed 12s, one was a full blown race car that competed in the British GT series and a show car. The Race car is now in the showroom at Track V Road awaiting restoration. The car is built around a bespoke traditional TVR style spaceframe chassis.

Picture below.

She's at Goodwood Revival this weekend.

Will hopefully be restored soon.

Anyone know why they used steel for the block in the production model rather than cast iron or aluminium alloy?
