Help Painting Brand New Steel Wheels (Black to White)
Discussion
I know there are a lot of paint specialists in here, so I wonder if you could help me?
I have ordered 4x steel wheels for my 106 XSi project from Tyreleader in Germany. When they arrive, they will be black (I am guessing from the pics).
I am not sure whether that will be black paint or powder coat but I am currently assuming the former.
I am going for a 106 Rallye look, thus I want the faces to be white. I am happy to mask them up and spray them myself but what, if any, paint prep am I likely to have to do?
Could I just wipe down the surfaces and crack out the rattle can, or would I have to take the surface back down to bare metal and prime etc beforehand?
Any advice is gratefully received!
