This thread is for a weekly time trial challenge, and to also help people improve and learn other cars smile

First off, the Power Street Speedway, add it to your game here:
http://socialclub.rockstargames.com/games/gtav/ps4...

The first car is a fully modified Comet. The first few laps I did my fastest time was 1:10.471, after getting more familiar with the circuit I dropped it down to 1:08.402
I have since found at least one more corner that you can take without braking, so there is slightly more to come yet on that time, but I will leave it at that for now and try to beat it myself.
I really hope that someone gets a quicker time, as it will be a good challenge for me then too!

And just to highlight the importance of mastering the Elegy, after just 3 laps I got this time.... we can do that car next if anyone wants to smile

Finally, the video of my 1:08.402 in the Comet is here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ptRzt2rBWAQ

Commentary:
T1, slight lift just before the apex, then back on the power asap
T2, flat out but do not turn in too tight after the corner to get ready for the next one or you will lose the back end
T3, as you go under the bridges you can see two strips of sunshine on the road, brake hard on the 2nd one and soon as you drop onto the red surface turn left and stop braking. Back on power soon as you've coasted round the apex
T4, go round the outside of the island as the road is smoother. There is a hump in the road just before you start to turn left which unsettles the rear on the Comet (One of its worst traits) so I lift off momentarily then feed the power back on as you go round the corner then full power soon as you feel it won't spin out
T5, keep all the way over to the right as you approach on the straight and slight left. your instinct says go to the left of the traffic island, but that will not allow you to go as fast through the corner. If you have stayed to the left and turn in at the correct time you can take this whole section flat out. In the video you can see the rear is unsettled by the bump in the road, but it doesn't do that every time
T6, keep over to the left as you exit T5 rather than drifting wide as there isn't enough time on the straight to get right over to the left ready for the corner. Lift off where you see the line of sunshine under the bridge and turn in, do not brake! As you exit the corner there is a striped barrier, back on the power there and keep far left
T7, lift off as you get to the crest of the hill and turn in, do not brake. Coast round or slight throttle and then full power when you go past the shadow of the bridge
T8, move over and stay to the right ready for T9, similar style to T5. In the video you can see I turn in too late and miss the apex
T9, at 0:59 in the video you go past a T junction on your right, as you pass the far curb lift off and start to turn in. In the video I brake, but Ive since found you can do it without braking, and even put on a little power as you go past the two trees on your right at the widest part of the turn.
T10, try to turn in late so it puts you on the left side of the road, it should be one big U turn combining T9 and T10 together
T11, depending on the speed you carried from T10, you can either take this flat out or lift slightly if it starts to drift too wide towards the barrier. I keep it flat out to just past the apex and lift momentarily if its going wide, otherwise flat out all the way!

Have fun smile

Ahhh this track. Quite a nasty one in the comet, difficult to keep tamed. But managed to beat your time (for now). Do your best!!!

Its not just about trying to beat the time, its also about bettering yourself and learning cars you wouldn't normally use or be fast in

Gotta admit, I wasn't so keen on this idea when it first came out! My experience with 'pro' time trials is that you get the same three people winning over and over which was what I was worried, and also fully modding cars limits how many people could actually turn up. But I had a go in a Stock Comet which could be a separate level of the time trial, and I was actually really enjoying trying to get it round quickly and smoothly.

I don't have a pic just yet but in a stock Comet I got a 1.15.111, which kinda indicates the difference between a modded one and an un-modded one but there's a skill difference between you gods and us plebs. :P

How are we going to do this DJ, by the way? Keep it to a track and a car each week for Eased's competition? Or will this one last another few weeks?

There are no set rules, if people want to use a standard car they can and a separate league table can be done smile
I was originally thinking about changing the track and car every week, but again, it can be left longer or shorter if it doesn't prove popular choices.
Maybe let the over all winner choose the next ones? Then the following week the winner of the standard car chooses, so it gives everyone a chance

I will add, modified cars do handle and drive better, so its worth spending a little and keeping it long term once you've mastered it wink

Can people add a rough lap count so we can see how much practice these thousandths are taking?
