Removing PCM from 997.1 RS

Can anyone tell me if its a straight swop to remove the PCM 2 unit from a Gen1 997 RS and install the standard Non Navigation radio/cd unit?

PCM2 is archaic now, I never use it and wasn't really bothered about it just the right car at the time happened to have it.

And if it is possible any idea where I could buy one from? I assume Porsche would have my pants down if it is available.

I don't know if its possible but I am curious as to why you would want to remove it....

I dont use it, for any long trips i use my phone or Garmin. It looks dated and is only going to look worse the older the car gets. If its turns into an expensive excursive then ill probably just leave it.
