If you have a crank with a 82mm stroke and a crank with a 84mm stroke, am I right to think that the highest point that the piston will reach increases by 1mm when moving from the 82mm crank to 84mm? And by contrast, it will also move 1mm lower?

This is assuming you only change the crank itself, and keep the same rods and pistons.
