Advice on rear hub removal please

I am replacing the brake back plates and mounting plates on my 83 3.3 turbo.
This requires the hubs to be removed as the brake mounting plate won't come past the hub.
I have of course removed the castellated but and I've loaded up a 3 legged puller (with several newtons!) against the driveshaft and the shaft moves away from me but the hub stays where it is!
Am I missing something here?
How is it meant to come apart?

I can only comment on my 964 I have worked on........
Loading up the shaft isn't correct, you will damage the CV's etc). You need to load the hub and the arm/bearing housing.
If your still struggling I would completely remove the driveshaft so it is out of the way as the tightness is the hub pressed into the bearing. (It's nothing to do with the driveshaft).
If it still won't shift, you can access the back end and 'help' the hub removal by giving it a whack whilst using the puller on the other side. (I doubt if you'll need to though).

I was only attempting this to replace the corroded parking brake mounting plates, but having read a few stories on the net about damaging wheel bearings I am going to leave this job until my bearings need replacing rather than risk ruining before their time is up!
