Help please - DB9 door won't open from the outside

Morning All,

My 2005 DB9 exterior driver's door handle won't open the door. The internal handle works fine. I've tried locking & unlocking the car using the fob, external lock and centre console lock switch but nothing makes a difference.

Any ideas?

So I've just taken the interior door panel off and had a look. The locking mechanism seems to work BUT I think the problem is the clear plastic inserts in the exterior door handle have become dislodged and are physically blocking the handle as it is pulled out.

Has anyone removed the actual exterior door handle? I would imagine that there is a spindle somewhere but it all looks very inaccessible without removing a metal frame.

According to the wsm the door handle assembly can be extracted by removing three nuts. When reinstalling,note the low 5Nm torque.

Could be a (common) defect microswitch in the door handle. Just had mine replaced. New one costs about Euro 170 (+VAT) plus of course installation/configuration.

Thanks, I managed to move the clear plastic obstruction with a paper clip poked through the slits in the door handle. Not a very 'long-term' solution though!
