Whilst clearing out the fridge last night I chanced upon a lonely sausage well out of its best by date

I have decided to perform a PH pubic service and put the lawn sausage myth to the test
We have a scabby bit of garden which is well frequented by our dogs and cats, plus foxes, badgers, rats, mice, birds, squirrels and other stuff probably which I havent directly seen myself

My sausage has been in the freezer overnight and firstly I can safely say that it is possible to hammer a frozen sausage into a lawn

More updates to follow
In the interests of science here are a couple of pics of my sausage standing to attention and then safely hidden away if anyone would like to see it smile

Ah no, please continue and add it to the weight of experimenting. It can all be peer reviewed with much merriment I am sure.

Be careful though, as you will see from the other thread, test variations and blind alleys can prove expensive - tescos finest, pepperami... You may need to crowdfund your new angle smile

Too early to start it here (got another month or two before the ground starts defrosting but could run a trial in another country. Moose and everything here. I imagine a moose after a bit of sausage would cause a lot more damage than a fox.

Can you hammer them in by throwing cans of red bull at them?

You have a lot of moss in your lawn. Time to have a quite word with the gardener.

I have looked in the mirror and had a loud word with the gardener who nonchalantly stared back at me.

The sausage patch is a shaded area away from the main croquet lawn cum tennis court cum cricket pitch that gets little love from the "gardener" but lots from the local fauna. Well I assume so as this is where Im most likely to see the little bds and the piles of st they leave behind. Consequently the human inhabitants of our plot spend little time in this little corner of paradise as not only is it generally in the shade but it usually stinks thus making it the perfect spot from all angles to a) bury a sausage and b) get trashed even further.

Cheers

When I saw the pics I assumed it was his grouse moor rather than lawn.

The grouse moor has been trashed
Whatever it was must have really wanted my sausage as it has been excavated to the full depth of banger insertion

For the scientists amongst you it was a Sainsburys Toulouse sausage

More to follow...........

So either there is a variation in wildlife in your area, it works better in warmer temperatures or Sainsbury's sausages are worth more effort...

That looks the work of a hedgepig. Top work OP!

Time of year and local fauna are certainly contributing factors.
