Hi

I’m looking for a Heavy Duty 9.5" Clutch and Pressure Plate to mate with my LT77. It needs to handle 300BHP+

I’m seeing prices for around £500 at the moment. Yikes!

Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced supplier and brand?

Maybe someone has one surplus they want to sell? :-) PM if you have...

Cheers

An AP green spring clutch should easily cope - or are they the expensive ones you've seen?

Yes it is... would there not be a 'standard' fitment clutch for the LT77 500's though?

Contact these people, discuss your needs with them and they will probably have a sensible solution for you.

I am not convinced an LT77 will be happy with that sort of power?

I have an LT77 in mine.

My clutch is a McLeon - single plate.

The clutch is 10mm taller - so the release bearing carrier has to be lathed down to suit.

Steve Heath was using the LT77 in his race car for a good number of years with near 400 bhp but he
had regular box rebuilds by CTS.

You're correct chilli, same clutch.

My lt77 has 350lb ft going through it. Fingers crossed but so far so good.

Haven't a clue! The Early Chims had this gearbox and not sure what happens with things like this. There may be some griff 500s or all the clutch stuff is the same for all cars. I just assumed the later cars were different!

Engineer1949 still has the rover gearbox on the orange chimaera although I think but he might have changed this to a R380, which has different internals.

Yeh I must say increasing the clutch from 9.5 to 10.5 like Range Rovers etc is a win win in my book, its just a matter of getting the FW re-drilled no biggy
