Wish they would hurry the **** up! There's such a huge gap in the c-class line up at the moment.
Mercedes UK are loosing the plot. Every other market is getting the C180, C200, C250 4cyl and then the C300, C400 6cyl along with the 6cyl C43 and C63.
What do we get??
C220d, C250d and been waiting for 2 years for the C450 which is now the C43 and still not here.
Same with the new E Class. Available as E220d and E250d.
Mercedes, a luxury brand that offers their cars in the UK as 4 cyl diesels. Shameful.

kMercedes lost out on my business for this precise reason, the petrol engines on offer are embarrassing!
The Petrol Saloons in the C Class still only go from C200 straight to C63.
The coupe did offer the C300 which was tempting, but not tempting enough.
Then the new E Class Saloon has no Petrol option available.
Granted the majority of sales are diesels, however for someone doing less mileage, i'd rather petrol thanks!

I need a new estate, and want another E Class, but think I am going to have to buy an older 212 as I want a straight six, and prefer petrol.
Just nothing being offered.
Just don't know why we can't have the E400, RWD 340hp turbo'd 6cyl?
Completely agree. What are MB thinking?Just nothing being offered.

My E300 estate goes back this year and I really want to get back into a petrol...so I've had to leave MB and go back to BMW (BMW 340i Touring on order). A real shame and I know I'll miss my E-class...apart from its horrible diesel engine.
The 340i will be nice, I nearly pulled the trigger myself. I loved my old 335i touring.
But I decided I wanted t have a car that was paid for this time round, I'm in my 40s now want to get my mortgages paid off in the next 10-15 years so gone into sensible mode.
So I bought an E350cgi Sport Estate a couple of weeks back and sold the X3.
One thing I will say, compared to the E350cdi I had previously, it is so much nicer to drive, so refined, much more relaxing round town but then much more lively when you press on, much quicker, 306hp vs 265hp, and really makes the car feel more luxurious.
Oh, and so far it is 3mpg behind the 350cdi as an average, on the school run of 6 miles it is 1mpg behind and on a long run it is 4mpg behind, but averaging 30mpg compared with 33mpg in the cdi.
More than happy with that.
Be interested to hear your thoughts on the 340i when you get it. I used to be amazed at the MPG on my E91 335i. I used to see 36-38mpg on my Norwich to Oxford Street run and back. Better than the 535d ever managed.
