I've just de-rusted the front number plate bracket from my 3.2 Carrera using malt vinegar. I have to say that it does a brilliant job for about 80p. All the surface rust has been eaten away leaving a bright clean surface.

Now I need to protect it before putting a topcoat on, but what to use!!

I've already soaked the parts in POR metal ready which has provided a zinc phosphate covering.

I've got Zinc 182 and Halfords Etch Primer, but a friend has suggested cold galvanising spray which I can only get from Screwfix or Toolstation.

Any recommendations on what is best?
