Problems Shutting Down Please Help!!

Every time I try and shut down my laptop, a box pops up saying windows is having probles shuttign down a program and it gives me the chioce to End Now. Then it shust down. This is annoying me to the Nth Degree as I can't find out where this program is. It is called sample. I have checked msconfig, task manager, services.msc all the usual palce and still I can't find it!! Is there some where else it could be lurkng? It only started last night. The computer is not on the net so it can't be a virus. there is also no sample.exe located on the computer. It's is doing my head in trying to get rid of it. There has to be a way I can find it??

Also where is the entry that tells Quicktime to start up as it keep sspawning multiple of itself and I have to keep disabling it in msconfig and I have now disabled 3 of them and a 4th has now turned up.

Here's a handy tool to tell you what all your auto-running programs are and how they're started. It goes without saying that you should be careful about what you stop.
