Issue with Sky remote and SS after fitting Android Box
Discussion
Wonder if any one can help with a problem I have. Setup is:
Panasonic TV
Sony SS
1 HDMI from TV to SS
Sky box HDMI to SS
PS4 HDMI to SS
Sky remote volume operates the SS volume, has done from day one. Turning off TV with sky remote turns off the TV and the SS.
All is good.
I then install an android TV box. HDMI to the SS like everything else.
Problem is now the sky remote doesn't operate the SS volume, it does the TV volume which I don't want. Also when I turn off the TV with the sky remote it doesn't operate the SS which stays on.
Can't understand why. Tried reprogramming the sky remote to no avail.
Any ideas? (The android box needs to stay

Sounds to me like the android box is somehow affecting the HDMI CEC system that allows the tv to control the other devices.
The remote talks to the tv not the sound system, when the TV sees a volume command from the sky remote it "orders" the volume change via the HDMI to the SS.
Have you swapped any HDMI inputs over when adding the android?
I would check the individual settings of the hdmi inputs on the SS, see what options the menu gives you.
Swap the android box onto another input and see what happens.
Does it all behave when the android is simply unplugged?
Try a different HDMI lead, it shouldn't make any odds but with digital stuff these days all sorts can make a difference.
PS do not "hot plug" hdmi stuff, always put the devices and amp into standby before connecting cables.

Thanks for this. I hadn't swapped any HDMI inputs when connecting the Andriod, I have a spare HDMI that's plugged into the SS DVD port but doesn't go to anything at the moment. I'll perhaps try it in another input. The remote talks to the tv not the sound system, when the TV sees a volume command from the sky remote it "orders" the volume change via the HDMI to the SS.

I'll try the other suggestions as well, thanks again.
Tried a few things last night, no joy:
- With the Android box disconnected from the SS everything works as normal sky remote wise. Volume operates SS and turning the TV off with the remote turns the SS of as well.
- Connect the Android back up and Sky remote volume operates TV an doesn't turn SS off.
- Tried connecting to different ports on the SS.
- Changed the HDMI cables round. Although they are all cheapo ones, is it worth investing in a decent one for the Android box and/or the connection between the TV & SS??
- There's no settings on my SS, well not that I can find. Only an option to turn HDMI Control on/off.
Driving me mad!
