I happened to be driving to the shop this afternoon and by chance a song came on which seemed to just perfectly mesh with the car. It was a most enlightening experience. Perhaps it is the fact that the VR6 Golf is a child of the 90s as was the song (albeit at different ends). Maybe it is the quiet confidence of the narrow v6 which matches the solid rhythm of the... oh hell, it just worked.

MK3 VR6 + Stone Roses Waterfall = something special.

So, tell me, what song just works with your car.... or should I seek help?

Had my mum's 10 year old Honda Civic runabout this last weekend to arrange some maintainance and repairs. Felt a bit like this:

My favourite spirited driving tune in the megane is called Masturbating Flesh Collector. It just seems to fit (and drowns out rattles)

It probably says more about me than the car..

I'm looking forward to completing the refurbishment of my old BMW E34 estate and sticking U2's 'Zooropa' albumn and specifically it's title track. It's not among my very favourite albums but it seems so right for that car. It's period correct, the purple of the album cover matches the bodywork, and the pervading German techno vibe suits the overall teutonic efficiency of design of German cars of the 80s and early 90s.

Plus I'm really enjoying Johnny Cash at the moment and he performs a great cameo at the end of that album.

It'll take me straight back to the late 90s when I would've been listening to the same album in my Dad's W124 Mercedes.

Big Healey. Its got to be something by Motorhead. Both very loud and not terribly sophisticated !

Interesting topic and great tune OP. So much cooler if you have an older car but a black 2013 Honda civic (1.8)? Tricky... but 7000rpm red limit, rifle bolt gearchange, "import", obviously I'm Brian O'Connor so this!

Incidentally when my university friend bought his E30 325i many years ago, we were driving along listening to this which seemed kind of appropriate!

Willing to bet that sounds as epic as Araya's opening scream, too!
