Hi all
Has anyone bought a set of the official AM luggage? If so would you recommend it?
I was looking at the 4 piece set for a V8V Coupe in readiness for a European trip this summer.
Would appreciate any feedback.

I think it all depends how much you want the Aston logo on your luggage. I have a four piece set which won't all fit in our Roadster but we use different bits as needed. I have another set of luggage that I sourced, no Aston badge, fits better into the car meaning we can carry more luggage when we go on tour. More practical as the big bad has wheels on it.

My more practical set probably cost about 25% of the Aston luggage and, to my eyes, looks just as good.

Thanks for the reply
Yes I noticed a company called CKS seem to do a set for less than half price. I guess you are right and it's the down to badge/brand preference again.

I have the fitted for the DB9.

Yes.. it is expense but it really adds to the occasion of going away.

The luggage is beautifully made and makes you feel special.

I have some lovely, cuboid Connolly bags that fit perfectly in the boot. Connolly closed about five years ago, when the owner, Joseph Ettedgui, became too ill, but it is apparently reopening.

I like the idea of fitted luggage, but wouldn't want any AM logos on the outside what so ever.

the luggage is made by a proper English luggage manufacturer, Tustings

Tustings have their own off the shelf range of handbags, messenger bags and such like

The fitted luggage however is unique to Aston

The 4 piece set comprises large holdall, a very well designed garment bag, small holdall and a beauty case (which also works well for cameras & electronics, or can have the inserts taken completely out to work as a general bag)

It fits really well in roadster or coupe boots, leaving room for some jackets, a handbag & a few other bits & pieces, however in the roadster, if B&O is fitted, it's a struggle hence I imagine Ian's problem. I think B&O is fitted differently in coupe so no problem there (it's the bulge from the extra power amp)

I think as leather luggage goes, it's reasonably priced, especially at the relatively modest premium level charged for matching leather (mine is in Lords Red to match my interior - IIRC it was about 20% extra for a one off in an Aston leather colour, over and above the charge for the standard colours)

Yes you can buy cheaper luggage, but you can buy more expensive too and again, as it's made by a leather luggage specialist, I find the price reasonable

In the coupe, apart from space on the shelf just in front of the main boot section where you can lie jackets etc, you can also fit 2 of the medium holdalls on the shelf behind the seats in addition to the 4 piece set in the main boot section

Edited: here is a good pic of how the 4 pieces set fits in a vantage coupe

I have been eyeing up the CKS set at £695 for V8V.

I only seem to be able to find the set for the Roadster model which consists of three pieces. Does anyone know if there's a four piece set available for a Vantage from CKS anywhere?

Sounds interesting! Have you got a link for your set? smile

I agree. The Aston Martin accessories are expensive, but to me anyway, they do add to the whole experience of owning an Aston. I have quite a few accessories now but the price for the official luggage set might be a step too much even for me... wink

Our luggage was bought from a local shop so no link I am afraid to where we bought it from. The pieces were Jump Uppsala Wheeled Duffle, a matching cosmetics case and two small Duffle bags. Ours are chocolate coloured which goes well with the Bitter Chocolate interior.

We also have double hooks behind the seats made by one of our friends (they were on eBay at one time) for suit carriers to hang on and have now done several European tours without running out of clothes.

Hope that helps.

I do like this set, especially the garment bag. I can definitely see the appeal...
For trips like Le mans or European tours, it's great. For a weekend in London where you might not need to maximise the space and don't need all the luggage, it's more of an indulgence. And yes of course you can cope with general, non specific squishy bags

In this pic, the garment carrier is either flat below the holdall in the middle or I'm not using it - I don't actually remember. You can see there is plenty of space for bits and pieces in addition to the luggage
