Could anyone tell me if no entry entry signs have to be a certain size ? Never noticed one as small as this before, I certainly didn't see this one today ! Not helped by a HGV blocking the no left turn sign and no sign on the right side of the junction .

Cheers .

Generally, the higher the speed limit the larger signs should be.

If the signage was clear they wouldn't be making so much money with those cameras. A deliberate trap, allegedly, fairly common in London.

Should there not be signs on both sides of the road? If so, and you get a ticket, challenge it!

I take it the smallest sizable permitted is 270mm?

That being the case, I'd hazard a guess at that particular sign being bks, unless my eyes deceive me, that ain't (almost) A4 (297mm) sized...

Not necessarily. See the exceptions mentioned in paragraph 4.40 of the Manual linked to above.
Without knowing the specific location it's hard to say whether either apply in this case.
