Any good new FPS shooters out there, been playing battlefield 3 a lot (personally think BF4 is a step backwards) and quite enjoy Advanced Modern warfare for just a quick brainless blast out.

Anything that's a happy medium between the two (not bothered about the single player aspect, more the multiplayer experience)?

I think Tom Clancy's The Division is the only new one at the moment - http://store.steampowered.com/app/365590/ that is similar to what you have played.

Mixed reviews.

If you want cheap and cheerful, as such, StarWars Battlefront is quite good.....

The Division isn't fps it's a third person rpg shooter so not really the same thing and it plays quite differently to normal fps games.

Star Wars Battlefront isn't cheap if you want the full game. The base game is very light on content and then it's another £40 to get the bits that actually make it into a full game.

I'm an FPS fiend and in short, there's nothing out at the moment that is really grabbing me. Doom, Battleborn and Overwatch are all due out in May and could be one's to watch.

You can play Fallout as an FPS. I did anyway, only occasionally used the VATS thingy.
Some FPS elements obviously.

Bioshocks?
Wolfenstein's?

For £4 on steam then Dead Effect is worth a couple of hours of single player space zombie blatting. Not much plot - pretty much every cliché around and no originality. For less than a pint of beer in London you can't go too far wrong.

Dead effect is currently 0.79 on Steam.

Singularity is currently £3.49 and is a truly cracking FPS.

Yeah I've been looking round recently for another FPS fix and didn't see too much that interested me. My solution was to go back and play the entirety of the single player for COD world at war, it still holds up remarkably well! And I certainly never averaged 120fps first time I played it hehe

Oh and also been replaying Rainbow Six Vegas 2 co-op with a mate, which has been a lot of fun and I'd forgot just how good the AI was (in the campaign at least).

Very much looking forward to DOOM though, I absolutely loved Doom3.

I've also had the urge to re-download BF3 so will get onto that later.

Wolfenstein is epic, very very very good but a curve ball, I recently went back to BF Bad Company 2 which is probably the best game in the whole franchise, but BF3 rules for online

Want an FPS with possibly the best gunplay out there, huge replayability, decent graphics and al multiplayer?

Destiny it is. I'm hooked, my friend prefers it to BF4 and he was very deep in to that.

It is one that very much relies on having 2 friends to play with, especially if you want to play online competitively in Trials of Osiris every weekend.

Bad Company 2 and Modern Warfare were very much the highlight of the last decade for me, at least on console and they are both last gen. Nothing on this gen has had the same impact for me including from the top franchises and most have been pretty lackluster.

I'm getting my military shooter fix by playing The Division at the moment. It's a good game but it's 3rd person rather than first and it doesn't really have a fully fleshed out PvP element, at least not in the traditional sense.

yep, went back and got the 360 out to play both recently, BF4 whilst good is not a patch on BC2 or BF3. They say they wont do another BC because no one can say what is so good over the BF series. I'll tell you, the games are infinitely more believable with characters you buy into and wookies for snipers.

The maps on BC2 were genius, despite bigger maps, allegedly better graphics etc nothing since has come close in terms of how playable they were. In terms of environment destructibility they've also gone backwards.

The guns\classes were well balanced so you could play sniper or up close and personal just as effectively. I used to love wookie-ing up, now they've nerfed the sniper\recon class so much it's not even worth bothering with.

The same thing applies to MW, the maps, weapons and classes where so finely tuned that it was a joy to play. Both franchises have lost the core thing that made playing these games so fun and resorted to gimmicks thinking this is what will keep punters coming back.

The main issue with teh weapons is the CoD lot that Dice went after. All cryng that a tank killed them with one .50cal shot etc.

BC2 never suffered, you were eitehr a BF or a CoD player back then. I adore the map set in a mountain valley on BC2, best ever. Just the look of the land, the way the grass shimmers, flows with wind etc. What they have done right is the controls of the vehicles are now spot on, if only we could have a BC2 rebooted.

I keep planning on renting a BF4 server but to limit each side to 24 players max as 32 is just too much

That's a really good game that was overlooked when it came out (which must be some considerable time ago).

Pretty much bugger all.

Rise Of Tomb Raider is very good (I only have it because it came free with my Graphics Card).

Other than that, nothing that I can find at the moment. Or rather nothing that I've not already played.

I've started playing counter strike recently after having it in my library and ignoring it for years.

The learning curve is monstrous but there is no rng, just pure skill which is appealing.

If you're a fan of arena shooters try the new unreal tournament, it's in pre-alpha but it's still amazing (and free!)

I was addicted to UT99, the new one is very similar in feel etc
