Finally getting round to ordering my bike, have a big voucher for Evan Cycles so need to buy from them only. Looking at Trek Fuel Ex 7 vs 8. The 8 only seems to have a different frame (new version), so is it work the extra 400 quid? I've hired lots of full suspension, but this will be my first bought one.

The EX8 has a KS dropper seatpost as well which is worth £130 or so, better groupset bits and Fox forks rather than Rockshox.

Both bikes are going to be great, just depends how badly the extra 400 quid is burning a hole in your pocket.

I have an EX8 that is a couple of years old, and my dad has just bought a new one a couple of weeks ago, lovely bikes to ride.

RS Revs are awesome once you have set them up though and they both have Deore brakes and a non-groupset chainset so personally I'd get the EX7, pocket the cash and use the money for upgrades when the current stuff wears out, with a view to upgrading the brakes after a year or so...

Yep this is what the guy in Evan's cycles said, do I need it now, nope so buy the upgrades when I do. I picked it up last Saturday and only had a short blast in it, wow what a bike, looks so good too:-
