whether to sell my demo 8 or in parts
Discussion
need some advice. At 51 this month it is time to sell my DH bike which I haven't ridden for the last 2 years. The question is should I sell it as a whole bike or break it down and sell the bits. The reason is simple the frame is oldish (2010) with the usual marks scuffs etc but all the bushes are good, but pretty much all the components are much newer. It has 2013 Rockshox Boxxers, a 2013 DHX5 rear shock, almost new Avid 5 brakes and rotors and DT Swiss FR2350 wheels albeit with a couple of dings in the rims. I could probably get £500 on ebay for the whole bike but maybe a lot more for the bits. Seems a shame to break it up though. Opinions?
Break to get the most cash, sell as whole for least hassle. I sold a road bike 2 years ago for £400, the bike got damaged in the post with a significant ding in the frame so I refunded the seller and broke the bike and sold most of the components. Ended up with £500 and bucket of bits that I couldn't sell like front mech, chain, bars.
