Looks like its my turn (2008 M6, 57,000 miles), limp mode this morning, no DSC, engine light on, went straight to the dealers and they confirmed it is the actuator on Bank 2, approved the repair there and then under warranty (I also have the no excess policy smile) Bank 1 isn't showing as having any faults, but what they said they will do is order 2 actuators, and the while they are changing the Bank 2 one they will do some thorough testing on the Bank 1 one and if it pings anything they will change it as well under warranty . I'm pretty please with the service actually. Also getting a brand new 7 series as a courtesy car smile

I've got a similar fault, it's intermittent at the moment but its booked in for the end of the month. I'm pretty sure it's the throttle actuator.
Once it's replaced, did you notice any difference in performance?

My E60 M5 went into limp mode at Xmas and the dealer said their were fault codes for both banks so replaced both throttle actuators. Car had done 60,300 when they failed. Also have Mondial warranty with zero excess which has now paid for itself. Didn't notice any difference in performance after they were replaced.

Hi Simon,

Yeah I remember your post and thinking it was only a matter of time before mine would fail.

Thank god for the warranty hey, first time using it in over two years of having it. Car has been rock solid otherwise.

When I replaced one on mine, the car felt like it pulled stronger through the rev's, may have been an underlying issue on my actuator for some time.

Had to replace both banks at same time. Got discount on 2nd bank. No warranty, much £s. Consider getting wear check if only one bank goes, especially if you have warranty.
