Morning,

I'm looking to replace the standard M8x22mm studs that join the turbos to cats and manifolds with stainless ones and brass locking nuts.

Does anyone know what the length of the threaded ends of the studs are at each end so I can search for some?

Ta.

Alright Leigh,

Will brass be ok at those temps? Brass has a significantly lower resistance to heat, approx 50% of carbon steel or stainless steel.

I'll have a look at the dims of what Redline replaced mine with.

Hi mate, hope you're well.

From what I've been told, "stainless studs mean no corrosion but the hard stainless is brittle and doesn’t expand with the heat well, so if you use stainless nuts they work loose, so the soft metal nuts absorb all the movement from heat and vibration and stay tight."

I've learnt from Porsche the original M8x22 studs are superseded with M8x30, with 10mm thread/5mm blind shank/15mm thread so looking for something similar. Perhaps Darren may also let you know where he gets his from, or supply me some?

Be interesting on his take regarding the Brass nuts.
