Manhunt for speeder, really?

Having read the link, it seems that officers have been checking hotels, bed & breakfasts. I appreciate that a conviction would undoubtedly be in the public interest, but using resources like that to catch a speeding motorist like this is ridiculous.
Here's the link to the fuller article http://www.sussex.police.uk/whats-happening/latest...

Sussex obviously need the money, I can send em £100 if it helps, no need to spend thousands trying to nab someone, and they better have evidence, but if they don't know who he is, how will they possibly get him for speeding? Bet they are seething! Hahaha
Not a speeding offence, a dangerous riding offence. In another thread you were calling on them to spend more resources on dealing with dangerous driver/riders, what's changed so suddenly?BoRED S2upid said:
Sussex must be a very low crime area no robberies or other serious stuff to investigate.
Wouldn't happen here. Youths riding motorbikes through public parks all the time no doubt without insurance polic are too busy fighting crime.
Do you read the Daily Mail?Wouldn't happen here. Youths riding motorbikes through public parks all the time no doubt without insurance polic are too busy fighting crime.
I doubt they have every officer in every department out looking for him.

I didn't have time to read the link, poster said speeder, natural reaction if he got it wrong! So he wasn't speeding then? What did he do wrong? Don't tell me, went too fast and didn't stop for a cop so now it's dangerous, not just the speed?
Evidently the manner of his riding is alleged to have fallen far below the standard expected (obviously so) & this presented danger of injury to somebody &/or serious damage to property. That's what dangerous riding is you know, so do you want dangerous riding offences investigated & dealt with or not? This guy sped, at times over 100mph through residential areas, schools, jumped lights junctions 20mph areas etc.
Then he had an accident at some point which caused him to come off of his bike.
He then got back onto his bike and drove further at speeds without a helmet, crashed again and ran into the shopping centre

It seems that the sheer length of the chase resulted in his facial hair growing, whilst giving him time to switch into a snappy suit and pose nonchalantly alongside the recovered bike:

If half what is in this article is true then some of the early posters in this thread look a little daft

I'd call Raoul Moat a 'man hunt'.
This looks like a some social media work and a few follow-up enquiries. At least we have the "more serious crime" fallacy comment i.e. "There are more serious crimes that aren't detected so only they should receive attention" - great logic...
I'd be surprised if they don't have a name already given the quality of that photo.

To be fair, I saw the story straight after Sussex Police tweeted, and before further detail was made available online. Now that the fuller facts are available, it sounds like a huge amount more than just simple speeding, and rightly so the Police are seriously going after this clown. More than happy now to say that their efforts appear commensurate with the offences.Trouble with PH sometimes is that if you start a thread before doing a thorough search and duplicate a story/link, you get hosed for repost police- and getting onto a story early means that in time other facts become known.
