Anyone about who does their own repairs / maintanence on their TVR Chimaera? If "yes", has anyone changed a lower front wishbone - I guess pressing the old bushes out is a swine but other than this is it relatively straight forward? Also, where can I get lists of torque settings for the various bolts please.

Cheers

Do the new wishbones come without the bushes fitted? How much do the lower wishbones cost these days?

Well I've had a variey of quotes Mark, but the wishbone seems to be around 80GBP and somewhere in the region of 120GBP for fitting. I understand that the wishbone comes without the bushings inserted. You'd be mad to reuse the old ones though after going to the trouble of pulling the suspension to bits.

actually you'd be a magician! Pretty nigh on impossible to remove without destruction. Took a 50 tonne press to get mine out. Peninsula (and others) do some poly replacements which are a lot easier to fit, and will be a lot easier to replace when/if the time comes.

When you've got your new bushes in and youre ready to fit to fit the arm-get some nylon washers(as fitted to cerbera wishbone bushes)and fit these to either side of the bush when you refit the arm this stops the bushes from tearing,as they do-you may need to make the hole diameter of the washer larger to make them fit....

Good advice Grasp,
I've fitted a whole set of Land Rover poly-bushes and these actually had side flanges that do the job of stopping the bush sliding about. I have a few other bushes that have torn sideways like this - a nylon washer insert sounds like a good idea.
