An interesting day....
Chap was here from 9:30 through to 18:30. Charge a very reasonable £225.
A few bits of damp found - and advised on what to tighten. No real nasty which is good.
A bit surprised to be told that the bulb in the marker light had gone. Sorted with a magic tap, but I kind of expected that was the sort of thing a service sorted.
Still I'm a happy man - even if I can barely push the stabiliser handle down now...

May I ask if it is usual to have a mobile technician carry out the service on a caravan rather than have to go to a workshop?
(I ask as I am looking at getting a caravan but don't know anything at all about them, so am trying to pick up hints/tips/ useful info where ever I can find it).

+1 for the mobile service guys. Used to go to a dealer but the mobile guy fixed our motor mover after a supposed dealer fix. He said that when the dealers get busy at this time of year then they call him in to do their services anyway.
Used him for 3 years now, no complaints, excellent service and a better price than the dealer as a bonus.
Best of luck in your search for your first van. From your other posts it's probably worthwhile getting a mobile service guy to give your chosen van the once over before buying it. I reckon you would get great peace of mind for less than a £100. Our caravan storage place recommended the one we use.
