VW Golf 1.6 petrol 2002-pump noisy

Hi guys, as per title on my sons 2002 1.6 petrol golf, the petrol pump is much noisier than usual.

I assume the pump is knackered, and needs replacing,or is it worth changing the fuel filter, to see if that helps.

Anyone know which pump for this particular car.
