Interested to hear whether other owners have uneven wear across the rear tread on OEM Michelins. The outer third on each rear tyre is now at the wear bar
where as the remaining tread channel is at 3mm approx. This is consistent on both tyres. My local service manager who I know quite well thinks the wear pattern is OK since it is consistent to both sides. I am considering a geometry check, however this may be a waste of time (money) if the wear is characteristic
of the rear set up.

I don't know is that is normal for the M4...but generally that wear pattern indicates too much toe in at the rear or less likely not enough rear camber.

Just had new rears on the M3 (16k miles) and the wear looked fairly consistent across the width.
Possibly a tad less on the outer 3rd, but not as much as 3mm.

Pressures. How often do you check them OP?

People seem to assume BMWs in general suffer from uneven wear however it is often down to people not checking their pressures frequently enough and/or running the wrong pressure.

Thanks for the post replies. I will probably have a geometry check done once the new rubber is fitted.

Thanks for the replies. Currently I am running the rear tyres at 2.2Bar and keep a weekly check.
I may get a geometry check once new rubber is fitted (14K miles on the existing tyres)

Be interesting to know the result of the alignment check.
