GOLF MK5 EXHAUST ISSUES

Hi everyone hope someone can help. About a year back my Golf 1.6 fsi had exaust whistle which led to he Cat converter blowing. This meant that the bits of metal from the cat blew through into my exhaust. Ever since then I've had a rattle in my exhaust which I've been told can only be repaired by relaxing he whole exhaust. I have a full GTI exhaust I believe and can't afford the replace that just for the sound it makes. Is there a method to remove the particles that are stuck and rattling.
Also on another topic I recently have had an issue with the lambda sensor which has been causing a misfire. Is there something that needs to be fixed urgently.

So you have a MK5 GTI exhaust on a MK5 1.6 FSI, with a rattling cat and a dead lambda sensor? It seems fairly cut and dry what the course of action here is?
