So as I'm doing repairs I'm discovering little things that may help others. Here's some "special" tools i've had to use. Please add any you've discovered.

Hi,
Having just taken the inlet manifolds etc off 3 times recently, I bought the special hose clamp tool made by Draper Expert. It is like a pliers but has specially shaped jaws. One jaw is more pointed than the other which has a bevelled edge. This tool unhooks and rehooks the clamps with ease. I highly recommend it to anyone working on Astons (and Fiats etc.).

oetiker pliers use one way to unlock and the other way to lock

Retrieval tools. Mirror for finding things you've dropped. Magnetic tool to pick it up (this has a light in the end as well)

Water hose clamps. Saves having to drain the water.

Brake caliper piston rewind tool

OBDII data logger. This will record everything for an extended period then you load it onto the PC and look at various graphs etc. Never needed it on the DB9 but used it a few times on the mini to find issues with power drop off etc.

OBDII Scan Tool. This one has various car manufacturers on it so has the code library built in.

Trim removal tools

Small ratchets. These are great for tight spaces

Used this to removed wiper arms off the spindle

Fuel line disconnect. If you take your intake manifolds off use this type of tool to disconnect the fuel line

Knackered nuts wink

Knackered stud. You never know when you might need these.
