Have been out of a supercar now for about 18 months having sold my LP560 to focus on my business, but now I am back.

Been watching the market closely and considering all sorts, but keep coming back to the Huracan!

Seem to have lost some money initially but now pricing has stabalised a little and decent cars can be had for £175k.

So can some owners chime in with any advice? Any "must have" items on the spec or things you wish you hadn't bothered with?

I have never got caught up over spec, as long as the car is priced accordingly because I really only use the car for enjoyment at the weekend.

When it first came out I didnt like the slatted engine cover, but having viewed two today (one slatted and one glass) I actually think I now prefer slats, and visibility not too bad (no worse than glass engine cover). It also had the standard 20" wheels which I quite liked, very retro-modern looking (is that even a thing?).

So I just welcome any thoughts or comments now its been out a little while and I am close to pulling the trigger?

Personally, i much prefer the glass engine cover, but have heard people complaining about not being able to see much due to the reflections. I would try and get one with a reversing camera too.

Will you keep it standard mate or get a lairy exhaust for this one too?

Just two things are a must, front lift as they will scrape and race exhaust. The exhaust transforms the car and is fine at cruising speed not intrusive at all. I love the four wheel drive, I was out in mine yesterday and off the islands with all that traction these cars a ballistic.
I stayed with rear standard cover but had it sprayed to match the body colour. Rear visibility is absolutely fine no worse than any other super car. Mine has rear camera but I never take any notice of it.
Lambo Birmingham are doing test drives at Millbrook next week it might be an opportunity to try one out in anger!

One I am looking at has rear cam but no sensors which may be annoying.

Factory exhaust not a concern as I'm likely to go aftermarket anyway.

Thanks for feedback.

I got mine in September and absolutely love it.
Luckily when I was looking for mine a local dealer had a almost exact spec coming into group stock, so got this with a few extras on including
Front lift, rear camera, sensors back and front, glass engine cover, DAB, branding pack. electric and heated seat, Nav, bluetooth and dynamic steering.

Its such a all rounder car and use it for going to work and a fun drive at the weekend.
Prior to the Huracan I had a 458 and to be fair I thought it was a great car but no where near the same quality, sound etc as the Huracan.
Love the car so much I have ordered a Spyder which I hope to get during the early deliveries of the UK cars in the next few months.

have you considered a used aventador ?
I know they're ~£40k more than £175k but still worth a thought perhaps

Everyone is recognising how great they are and buying them now. I feel my work is done as a McLaren brand ambassador.

Like the Huracan but not Lambo enough for me and don't think it will age as well as the Gallardo especially if its around for as long.

Personally I might be more interested when a lightweight version comes out but TBH the fact the spyder only has a cloth roof is a big disappointment for me. It would of looked mental with a proper hard folding roof

Had mine a few weeks now, really cant fault it. Feels quicker than the 458 especially nailed out of corners, it just flies.
Mine is very high spec (thanks to the previous owner) lift is a must, the race exhaust is loud enough without been annoying.
I prefer the glass cover but the slats look good too, the 'raw' carbon engine bay is not particularly to my taste.
I did worry about my first venture to the dark side but really have no negatives, i love it and judging by the looks, waves and smiles
everyone else seems to, you don't get that with a Horse...

People like me? You don't know me either, but you're happy to make sweeping statements about me on the basis of 1 post of mine while giving RL a free pass, blindly ignoring his repetitive posting style, which prompted my post in the first place. Very even handed of you. Well done.

You reap what you sow, and he posts the same thing over and over again. If that interests you, good for you. It bores the vast majority of people. He's become a figure of fun because he's so monotonous.

And IIRC repetitive posting is also against forum rules.

I have no wish to argue about something I care so little about, so I will bow out now.

Good luck with the purchase OP. I'm looking to test drive a huracan spyder and an aventador with a view to purchase one or the other. Can't wait.

Guys can we get back on track?

I didn't ask about a Mclaren, I asked about a Huracan.

Now I remember why I don't come here often.

580-2 is not for me.

I have a race car for that type of drive.

I like the dash 4 lambos and would prefer to pay similar money for a 1 year old -4 than brand new -2.

You appear to have answered your own questions in your own post. As with all cars best not to buy new. I'm sure you have an idea about what spec you will tolerate and since your not too bothered anyway, this makes it even easier. All these cars will depreciate so just enjoy it(buy a Mclaren... biggrin)

To be honest we all have different priorities in what we want. Love my Mac and just got a fezza for a few days which I really don't like but doesn't mean it's a bad car. Ho-e to see pics soon of your Huracan
