Car out of storage, no MOT or Tax, driving it to MOT station
Discussion
Hi all.
As per the title. As I understand/remember things it's ok to drive a car on the road without an mot and road tax so long as you are booked in and on route for the mot. Once the mot has been carried out its a case of going on line and putting tax on the car.
Assuming the above to be correct I was just wondering. Given there are so many number plate recognition cameras around now days should one spot my plate whilst en route and run my details, find I have no tax/mot, do I get the shaft via the post?
I should also mention the car isn't currently insured for the road, just laid up insurance at the moment but I'll pop a call in ahead of heading off.
Thanks in advance people.
Mike.

I would assume if you do get pinged you'll be able to present evidence of your pre booked MOT and be able to show that you were either driving to or from it. However, if you don't have proper insurance you'll be f***ed pre booked or not.
