I'm in the middle of a turbo build and I read somewhere that I need cooler plugs. I have a set of BPR6EIX that I've used just 5 months. Does anyone have a set og BPR7 or BPR8 they'd like to swap with me smile?

I've got a brand new set (boxed) of BPR6ES that are surplus to requirements and available to swap for beer tokens if anyone is interested?

Assuming you're not ramping the boost up from the off but starting low and tuning from there, I'd keep them. Probably ideal to avoid cold fouling whilst you mess around with fuelling and timing etc. Sure, if you're running a Bar of boost, you'll want 7 or even 8s to be safe but I doubt you'll be going straight into that territory with a new turbo smile

I have just installed 8s on my Griff(supercharged)..TBH there's not a big difference. I pulled the 8s out to have a look at their colour..they were the same as the 7s I had been using.

10.5:1 for a forced aspiration engine sounds high?

my heads are 30cc, not 28, so I recon I'm at 10:1. All modern turbo engines run high comp (10 ish) and low pressure turbo, like 5psi. No reason it shouldnt work on the rover with sequential fuel and wasted spark?

If you measure it rather than guessing, I'd be pretty surprised if it was anything like 10:1; factor in any overlap on the cam to reduce the dynamic CR over whatever the notional static figure is and I'd expect it to be fine with sensible boost. What turbo have you gone for and any intercooling?
