I've been using gorilla tape with no issues and its even cheaper. Plus it can be used to bodge/fix other things around the house.

Gorilla tape works perfectly for me also. didn't even have to cut the 25mm tape down.

I needed a compressor to get the initial air in though.

Can't see how a fabric based tape can possibly be superior to a plastic tape. Also on the bigger bike forums you have loads of people complaining about pressure loss and most of the time they have used gorilla tape. One wrap of this type tape with a 1" overlap at the valve hole has been 100% successful for me, most of the gorilla tape guides say 2 wraps so also going to end up adding more weight back to the rim.

Noob question - if my wheels claim to be 24mm internal width, do I want the 25mm width tape, or the 19mm width tape that they also supply?

Depends how deep the channel is as internal width is a straight line measurement between bead lips, Hope told me to use 26mm tape on their 23mm internal width rims and worked spot on. Basically as long as the spoke holes are covered it should be fine, but generally people tend to go wide and choose a tape width to fill the whole channel so if I were you I'd choose the 25mm tape.

5t's not just about sealing the rim, you want tape wider than your internal rim diameter otherwise it tends to get screwed up when removing/replacing tyres.

Gorilla tape is alright and good if you need to build up a rim to make a tyre tighter, but yellow tape is my preferred choice.

Not had any issues with pressure with gorilla tape myself. In fact I probably used to loose more in between rides when running tubes. I only tried it as an experiment to see how well it would work and was quite surprised, I had planned on getting the stans or joes tape at some point but haven't needed too.
