Servo Autopsy

Ever wondered what is inside a servo....not a lot really.



Underneath the silver disc in the middle there is a rubber diaphragm, which make the vacuum seal.

At the usual going rate of £250 + it feels like an awful lot of money for bog all!

It's a MK8 Fiesta one I got for nothing. It's probably the same insides as ours. I've now put it all back together and re-sealed the can. There nothing clever about how it seals and the sealing lip round the edge of the diaphragm fitted back exactly where it came from, so my guess is it would still work. Anyone want to try it?

Yeah I thought it was gonna be a bit more involved than that.
£250 would have bought you the whole fiesta not just the servo.
I'm glad I got mine replaced thanks to the servo thread on here. Brilliant.

It's amazing what they can do: just take a look at his folding hood!

Yep, got to agree. Anyone who can get that hood system sorted out should be able to sort servo reconstructive surgery with their eyes closed.;)
