Hi, Just fitted a set of SP 12s with my favourite tyre Uniroyal rain sport 3 245/35/18 rear and 215/40/17 front.I listened to all of the hard ride stories and various other negative feed backs so now feel I should and my ten pence worth. The ride is no harder than before but is a lot more positive. The biggest difference is the steering which is much sharper to the point where I had to consciously under steer, it's spot on, I think the difference could be down to the difference in the wheel weight compared to standard. Yep - in over 15 years and 120k miles ownership, SP12s on those tyre sizes were probably the single best upgrades made. Literally transformed the car

I was looking at a Chimaera on Friday that had 17F 18R wheels and I was very impressed with the cars stance etc,,
Allows for a natural rake and offers much more grip on the rears,,
Phazed car so also has very wide tyre for track days etc, very compliment car with loads of grip so it's defo the way to go.

I too have SP12's on my Chimaera and it drives very nicely, much better than the standard burger sized tyres.

Me too, 17/18 SP12s. Excellent set up. I have my road tyres on them.

Sorry to sound like the newb I am but does this combo go straight on or is there work on the arches/suspension needed?

Also, how far out of whack does the speed get - if so is it easy to recalibrate?

they fit perfectly and are in fact designed as upgrade for the chim speak to Tim at ACT I believe he is the sole supplier cheers Keith

Only one tiny mod needed; to trim the very end of the rear stub axles (easier than it sounds), so the centre caps push home. With the right tyres, rolling radius is close enough not to mess up the speedo.
