"Quick Cook" Pasta
Discussion
What is the difference between quick cook pasta and the normal dried pasta you can pick up from the shelves of any good local supermarket.
Aside from the difference of cooking time of course.
I had some "quick cook" spaghetti last night and it was rank. Tasted like an awful noodle.

It's already part-cooked (steamed) before they package it or it's made in a way which means it's more porous so it absorbs water more quickly.

and while we're at it, whats the difference between easy cook and 'normal' rice.
Think it's a similar concept i.e. it's been part cooked and then dried again.Either way I avoid both easy cook pasta and rice. Anyway just how precious is someone's time, it only take 10 - 12 minutes to cook normal dried pasta and similar for rice? The quick cook stuff is only a few minutes less and it doesn't taste as nice IMO.

Merely an accidental purchase.
