Audi A4 B9 - 1.4 TSi sport Vs 2.0 TDi Sline 190Bhp
Discussion
Having a bit of a dilemma, I have a new A4 avant 1.4 tsi sport on order on a great lease deal. I keep thinking have i made the right decision? Yes its a good deal, but is it going to be dreadfully under powered, especially coming from a Golf R? Also i know there isnt much in the way of styling differences between the sport and s line but am i going to regret going for an sline?
Has anyone driven a 1.4tsi and a 2.0TDi? is it worth the £75 extra per month for the S Line?

Driven a 1.4. I think it goes really well. 150bhp and, I think 280lbs ft of torque. The saloon is approx 1,325kg so not a huge amount of weight to shift.
Bought the car secondhand. 8 weeks old, just 700 miles on the clock so not yet run in. Returned 46mpg on the motorway trip home of approx 135 miles.
75-80mph, AC on Eco, using CC a lot of the time. My brother has the 1.4 120 in his A3. His economy improved by just over 10% after a few thousand miles so I'm expecting this to be a genuine 50mpg + car in the near future.
Makes diesel obsolete for our usage.
Would recommend.

All depends on how much mileage you do. Less than 20k per annum and you won't reap the benefits so no point. If you do alot of short journeys you're probably gonna have the dreaded DPF issues aswell.
There was someone on the best lease deals thread who just took delivery of their 1.4 saloon who came from an M135i who seemed happy enough with it. Just don't expect the performance to be anywhere near the same.
Take a test drive of one and see if you'll be happy with it. It should be pretty adequate depending on the type of driving you'll mainly be doing in it.
