So its out of the paint shop and I have put my bits back together and it all now works.
Find myself in a bit of a quandary now. I bought a V8s thats being delivered tomorrow that will now demand my attention, shall I let it go or stick it in the garage for a while, not sure I would stumble across another one quite like it now as it cost me a fortune and I dont want to regret it later.

It does look nice and anyone wanting a neat Wedge would love it. It wouldn't suit the purist though, seeing that it's had a colour change and after market seats. Nice wheels.
Tony. TCB.
Tony. TCB.
Tony yes totally agree. If I keep it, and I think it may go that way, i was going to replace the seats with something along these lines. Not perfect but in keeping with the car and era so to speak. Aside from the wheels (which frankly are head and shoulders better than original) and seats it would be and easy restore back to purist.

Looks stunning.......don't sell as you'll regret it with prices on the rise
Ps can I ask what the wheels are (and the size / ET please :-)
We wont go there unless you really want to. A project I started and then had to complete. They are half 50% artec hubs with custom made polished alloy rims. Deep pockets required.Hence something I wished I had not started. You more than welcome to email me if you want to duplicate them but you will need to sell the wife first!!!Ps can I ask what the wheels are (and the size / ET please :-)
You are welcome to put the wives in the BBWF charity auction....
There is a thread on this particular Wedge concerning all the work that was done by the then current owner and i have seen this car in the flesh and very nearly bought it...However the seats could be changed for maybe Chimaera or Griff as they fit without modification...If you need runners then i have a set....The Wedge seats are actually more comfortable than the Chim & Griff seats...Although they are really comfy for around 50 miles then you need to stretch your legs...Which normally coincides with a fuel stop anyway....I also found the Nissan SX seats very comfy but need a Wedge runner to be fitted.
As far as "Purists" then stuff that...The Wedge is a car that was engineered not just built and NEEDS to be re-engineered if its to stand the test of another 30 years...Parts available at the time were used when they were built and I'm sure if then was now we would be seeing the same as we do today where people change the colour...Wheels.(Which incidentally look the dogs on yours)..Seats...Brakes...Lights....Steering...
Keep it..Love it...Enjoy it...Bring it to the fest...It looks timeless...A real modern classic...Look at it like this...You might get the odd old fart of a purist moan about bits that have been changed but you will get a lot more old farts as well as yout's giving you the "Nod of Nice"....You know it makes sense.....Who needs a wife when you have a Wedge.....

:
Zig your spot on there with the fact it needs to be re engineered. I think thats why we all feel like they cost us so much and the battle seems to never end. There are so many parts that you can update and replace with better engineered parts today, that obviously costs. I find myself constantly finishing one job and looking where I can spend the next pound. Someone posted about suspension and ride quality recently and now thats my next niggle target!!! More money, if I just sorted the suspension would that make it perfect...and on we go
:
Side note....I did not have the black stone protection paint put on the rear arches, looked nice without it. 30 Miles in and its taken a beating already. Cant get away without it.
So the V8s was delivered today. Made me realize how far I have come with the 400....My seats have been slated in the 400 as they are RX7 seats (Not fitted by me I hasten to add) but they are like an armchair compared to those in the V8s their rubbish, the seats in both were the same?. I should also add the V8s has only covered 26k so the seats should be just broken in!!
Cheers
Andy
