Hi all

Next question, for the rebuild, I have my old copper fuel lines that I am replacing, so I know that the pipe follows the chassis top tube from the engine backwards to the diff area where according to the pipe it looks as though the old return fuel line would go underneath(below) the rear drive shaft (driver side) this does not look or seem the right thing to do, as the return line entry to the tank is almost at the top but the bend in the pipe (which has not been bent out of shape) wants to go the other way.

Just want to check that there is not a hidden reason why this was done? As common sense would take it above the drive shaft and keep it attached to the chassis out of harm’s way

Thanks in advance Alex

Thanks for replies really helpful does anyone know why they did it this way surely so much better to stay at the top of the chassis then make the connection less likely to be damaged by stray stones etc....?

If you run it along the bottom rail, you have to be precise with the routing as if it is not just right the body when lowered into place can easily touch and kink the copper line near to the rear wishbone.

I didnt know the later cars ran it along the top of the chassis. Much better place if you ask me. Wish i`d have put mine there now.
