Choosing NHS care, Scotland/England.
Discussion
This isn't a health care question, it is a "what are my rights" type question, hence posting it in SP&L.
If someone is resident in Scotland, has a GP there and is referred for surgery treatment there, but works and spends most time in England, can they request that treatment in England? (without registering in England and starting the whole long process again, which will add maybe 6+ months to the process). I know you can choose where to receive care within England, but I can't find anything which states about moving care from Scotland to England.
Otherwise, this person will have to receive quite a major operation and when discharged be driven 500 miles to somewhere they can be cared for, whereas there is a major hospital just 20 minutes away....
Thanks.
