So here's a chance to spread your good news.... just post whatever has made you happy on here.
Here's mine:
My daughter is going to University in September. However, she nearly decided to not go, as she didn't want the years of debt.
SO she applied for a scholarship with a major IT company....
She's just been told she's been awarded the scholarship to study for a BSc.
She will go to university on Mondays and work for the company Tuesday to Friday.
The company pay her University fees so she comes out with no Uni fees debt.
She gets paid 14k a year whilst studying and working for the company (not bad for an 18 year old)
She gets three years solid work experience during her study period
If she achieves a 2:1 or higher she has a guaranteed job offer at the end of the 3 years.
As you can imagine, we're all very happy.

Congratulations. I would have been happy if my uni fees were paid for never mind a wage. In less important news - I've just brought the new UFC game and it's great. Here's mine:

That’s not a Mk IIB it’s a MkIIB2, which has the grommet inverter in the passenger footwell.
You ignorant troll.

A full time degree gives you 17 hours a week in from of tutors. All the rest you self study (additionally 25+ hours a week on average). That's for 8 months in a year. However, much of what the full time kids are 'studying' will be stuff she will do in real life working environment. So when the full time Uni kids are doing 'role play' and visiting institutions, she'll be applying what she learns in the work place. Her working week will also be part of her course, and the university is involved with the employer making sure she learns in the work place what other students will learn in the classroom or from books.
She will do 12 hours a week for 11 months a year, and still be expected to do 30+ hours self study a week.
The hours in front of tutors at lectures works out exactly the same as someone attending full time Uni course. So no, not micky mouse.
Its a very hard and intensive course.
