But am I alone in feeling inadequate! All these Tivs out there with lots of mods on and all I have is a 400 with sports exhaust, and level shiny bits!!! I hanker for NOS and all the other goodies but:
A can't really afford it
B know I don't really need (just want) any extra speed because i am still learning to control what I do have.
C My husband thinks I should leave well alone( I have maxed the daily drive)
Is it still cool to have just a basic model?

Nothing wrong with having something pure and unadulterated!

There'll come a time when the "best" cars will be those with as few mods as possible!

Yes it is. I haven't even got the sports exhaust. Mines as bottom of the range, basic as they come.

For now anyways... Wait till after my pay review and we'll see...

Enjoy what you have got Rooster. Don't worry about what the others are doing. If you don't need the mods then don't do 'em.

Me too have 'out of the box' 4.0l Chim and love it for the purity.

Read with interest those who tweek, consider really wild ideas like change of steering wheel for wood one or heavens to betsy change the wheels to more spider type but will probably never do it.

Had Caterham and did same (nothing) and was able to sell for good money as 'totally pure and original' - sold to first viewer at asking price 2yrs after purchase for loss of £200 - in my book....cheap as chips.

I still think there will always be a market for well maintained (not necessarily by dealership) cars that have been looked after and left alone.

And it makes me smile like an idiot....roll on summer.

Yours sounds about as standard as mine. So what other goodies are you after for a 4.0 ltr Chim other that NOS and I'd have thought that would have been better suited to a 5ltr.

Yep, you're paranoid. I would love a 4.0, but I have a V6. Maybe someday....

Cor dear oh dear, you need to get off the 'must have' and just enjoy your car as it is. And they are brilliant cars.

There are people around that would cut off their penis to have a car like yours well perhaps not that but you know what I mean.

I'd cut off my right arm to be ambidextrous.

Do you enjoy driving your car?

Do you have a big grin on your face everytime you take it for a spin?

Do you not think the world would be a very boring place if everyone had whatever they wanted?

I drive a standard, ish, Cerbera 4.2 and love it! Even when I am getting covered by the contents of the gearbox oil system, as happened today!

Just because you're paranoid, doesn't mean they're not out to get you.

Sorry, someone had to say it, and I'm bored at work.
