Hi,

I am after some opinions please (I am usually found in the All Creatures forum thought I should actually try the car side for once and seek advice rather than give it!!)

Last night after a particularly tough, long shift at work I drove home and as I have done thousands of time before went to reverse into my drive. Unfortunately I was tired and I got distracted but kept moving and crunch, into the gate I went!

These pics show the damage. I know bodywork stuff can be pricey and I want a good job. I do not want to use insurance if poss, too much hassle. I have had a quote of £360 which I think seems OK (gulp) but wondered if someone of knowledge could advise if this does seem reasonable. Will be very appreciative of any feedback, thank-you.

Good price I think given the damage. Just be sure the work is upto scratch.. Pardon the pun!

Thank you, I'll forgive the pun.

I can all but hope that the job will be good but anything will be better than the embarrassment of driving around with the state of it now.

Agree thats a good price. Curved rear quarter, damage to the edge, dented swathe line makes a difficult repair in my eyes so £350 would be easily worth it.

p.s. Whereabouts in the country are you as it maybe worth posting for a recommended garage in your local area if you're not sure of the quality of work of your chosen garage?

I was thinking of doing that originally then found this forum.

I may do that aswell, They are a professional bodywork company and well known name in my area which is why I picked them and reviews are reassuring but can't hurt to check, I'm not in a massive rush to get it fixed.

Sounds like a good price to fix. I'm pretty sure I'd be looking at £1k+ round my way. Even for them to bother to get the paint gun off the shelf seems to cost £500 hehe

Sorry to hear you bashed the car, that sounds almost too cheap for that damage.

Thanks for replies and heads up that the price may be too low. Haven't made any further enquiries as been bit sidetracked. I've have looked into the company and all seems very good.

I'd just get another couple of quotes if I was you.
