Megan's steering lock and how to unlock. 2007

Hi,can anyone offer a solution to my Megane problem.Three of the windows stopped working,my initial thought was fuses.during the process of checking Same 95% of the electrics went down ( hazard warning and central lock still work) most other things including dash lights dead.I,ve had a mobile Tech visit but not making progress.I may need to trailor it to a Renault dealer.The steering is locked presumably electronically ,can anyone give advice.Many thanks in anticipation.Baz

From what youve said it sounds like you short circuited something while checking the window operation, my first move would be to check all the high amp fusible links on the battery positive terminal.

Thanks for your sensible suggestion.I actually checked the one large accessible fuse the others are such a ball ache to get to decided to call the mobile tech.Unfotunately I had to go to Australia the day after the fault developed,was hoping all would be good on my return (better half has worn holes in her soles).The upshot still no joy, will check the other large fuse on my return.Thanks Baz
