Hi Guys

I'm looking at buying a Hurricane Induction Kit for My S2. My question is does fitting one of these effect the fuel consumption of a standard S2??

I travel about 40miles a day, but I don't want to fit something that will kill my MPG. I know they make the engine sound sweet, and improves Torque etc etc.. I just don't want to reduce my MPG massively

If anybody has one already fitted could you please let me know whats what, and if your happy with the results.

Cheers Guys.

Hi Mate

I have noticed no real difference in the fuel consumption. I think you might be inclined to press the pedal a bit further just to hear the noise and this will have an effect on fuel consumption.

Fitting is easy, the most difficult bit is removing the old airbox.

Does that induction kit make much of a bhp difference? I'm also considering putting one on.

Hi Paul, did the instructions you get with the kit suffice to show you what to do.
Bearing in mind that I'm a bit of a technical numptie and don't have a jack or many tools how easy is this as a DIY? Sinclaires will fit for an hours labour (which is about £50). IIRC I read somewhere that to get the ducting in place on the side vent you either need to have arms the length of an Orang Utan or a jack to take the wheel off for ease of access.
Cheers,
Tim

Induction will make a few BHP depending on which you go for. Hurricane estimates are around 5-8 bhp.

Tim. You should be able to fit it yourself but a bit fiddly.

I fitted the ITG induction to my 111s last week....no trouble at all as long as you've got some basic tools. As the 111s has a resonator box its a bit more tricky as the wheel has to come off to get to the mountings for the resonator. But if you have a standard S2 you shouldnt need to take the wheel off as the resonator box isnt fitted. Should be straight forward as long as you're prepared for a bit of stretching!!

You'll need a couple of 10mm open ended spanners, flat head screwdriver and some cable ties.

if you go onto the Hangar111 site there are some good step by step shots of Greg putting the ITG onto his S2, will be pretty much the same for any system you choose. Can vouch for the ITG, it may be a little more pricey but its quality.
