987 gearknob on a 986?

Will a 987 gearknob fit on a 2000 986 (3.2S)?

I really don't like the feel of the stock gearknob .

Any advice gratefully received

The knob itself will fit.

It will fit but the gaiter on the 986 is part of the gearknob so you either need to cut it off or buy a separate gaiter.
