VX 220 - exchange alternator?

Vauxhall dealers are quoting in excess of £500 for a new alternator (VX220 NA 2000(X)) but £175 for an exchange unit for Astra/Vectra 2.2... but suggest it's not compatible with the VX220.

Firstly - is that correct?

Secondly - what other options do I have?

Will the one off the Turbo work?

Thats the Z20LET as found in the Astra GSi

If its visible I can get you the part number off mine if you like...

Unfortunately the Turbo alternator is not compatible with the Z22SE engine fitted on the NA VX220

There is a breaker in Essex that specialises in the VX.

He had one in a while back, maybe worth a look?
