Following advice from the Forum, I disconnected the Kind lead from the distributor to get oil pressure up because the car has stood for a while Connected back up again now flooded and won,t start.

How long does it take to dry out naturally (by rule of thumb) Don,t want to start pulling plugs etc

Shouldn't take too long - 1/2 hour should certainly do it.

The advice should also have said to pull the fuel pump relay, to avoid just that.

Unplug the ignition amp (this removes the signal to the ECU to say the engine is rotating) then hold the throttle wide open as you crank to get some air through the engine to dry the plugs out.
