Bought this absolute lemon a few months ago, ive always wanted a mps so went out and bought one that i thought had been looked after... That wasnt the case with this one lol

The car had a few modifications when i bought it (corksport intake, tip, exhaust and forge recirc)

Anyway, after owning the car a few weeks it tuned out the turbo was on its way out, i bought a cheap st turbo to put me on until i could afford a uprated turbo.
That turbo was no good, so i then bought a hybrid turbo which was miles better
Then i wanted to modify so i had hpfp fitted then downpipe fitted, i bought a cobb accesport so the car could be mapped.
After doing some datalogs the tuner told me something wasnt right with the readings, long story short the vvt needed changing (vvt was meant to of been done already) had vvt changed and now car runs miles better

Now the engine is pretty much sorted i need to make a start on the rest of the car

Plans:
Front fog lights need replacing ( glass )
New rear light
Windows tinted
Spray badges a different colour (not sure what colour)
Give it a good clean lol

As it stands the car has: exhaust system with only 1 res and no cats (3" dp fitted)
Forge recirc, hpfp, intake/tip, hybrid turbo and a tune

The car handles the power well, if i go for more power then i will need to have a rarb fitted and possible coilovers, but those plans are a while off yet

Anyway ive probably missed loads out and i will post pics soon as possible

Looks good. I have a black mk1 aero myself. What about changing the badges to red or black?

Turbos are a weak point on these cars as the oil seals are weak but you can always fit a banjo bolt to help it and change the oil to thicker stuff. I use Shell Helix ultra 5w40. Hope the car serves you well and you enjoy it smile

I had a banjo bolt on the original turbo but after so long it made no difference

I use that shell oil too

I was thinking black for the badges but imo it makes the front grill look broken :/ not a fan of red neither

What sort of power and torque is this making now?? I had a focus ST that shares chassis with these and it benefitted hugely from the bilstein B12's I fitted but possibly even more so from the RARB

Not sure what power and torque but at a educated guess i would say 300bhp and 330ftlbs but thats just going off people with similar mods

these cars are superb and an regularly overlooked beast

ford are only just now starting to draw on this power plant for their new ranges of 2.3 eco boost engines (obv with much more modern twists)

after the BRAB has served its purpose..... the face lift 3MPS is my next target!

just a shame they dont do an AWD verios like they do with the 6

I had a mk2 one .These cars are money pits , mk2s are slightly better being newer.

Who is your tuner as I know them all , I had to use a guy in Australia to get mine where it needed to be .PM me if you have any questions.

They arent actually that un reliable if im honest, they are just like any other performance car, they just need to be looked after

Tax is 490 a year and fuel isnt the best but you dont buy a 2.3t petrol car for mpg lol
