Thinking of getting one of these Wattbike things, My son has recently had a knee op & can only really cycle but he's not into going out on the road so we are thinking about going half's on one.

i did have a turbo that i got rid of but i think i mainly got shot of it because of all the faffing around in setting it up, These Wattbike things look really good.

Am i right in thinking there are apps to relay you're ride to the big screen to give you that ' On road experience' ?

Does anybody on here have one & would you recommend it ?

Get a Kickr + Zwift. Problem solved, much more motivational than a wattbike.

I've got one and quite like it. I don't use any apps with it, I just use the Garmin to record the sessions (mostly).

It's good for rehab as you can get a clear indication of how each leg contributes to the effort. Probably more useful if you have a baseline. Two of us use it and it's fairly quick to adjust. I bought a second seat post, so we have his and hers saddles.
